Seasickness – A tiny trash root art project (2014) Year 2014 – times of high technology, creativity, innovations and increasing leisure traveling. Human beings are producing and using globally 300 million tons of plastic every year. Goethe said “The hardest thing to see is what is in front of your eyes.” Use of plastic in disposable items and ignoring plastic waste around us is an example of it. We may not notice buying plastic every day since it is so hard to avoid. And we hardly notice throwing or forgetting plastic litter behind us. We may think that somebody else will take care of the trash, but it seems to be nobody’s business. Project idea was created during two weeks stay in Sfakiotes artist residency in Greece. Residency is a member of Res Artis – Worldwide Network of Artist Residencies.
